Would you allow your son or daughter to attend an overnight gay Christian camp?

It might save them years (or even a lifetime) of alienation from their faith. It's all too easy to see Christianity as the enemy when many of its adherents are condemning you as a sinner, worthy of discrimination. It took years for me to "reclaim" my faith and my God (with the help of a gay-friendly church), and I mourn the fact that many of my gay brothers and sisters were so wounded that they may never find their way back.
Most of these wounds are inflicted in our teenage years - and frequently inflicted by the the sermons of pastors who baptized us and gave us our first communion - so a gay Christian camp for teenagers would be a great antidote to this alienation.
Otherwise, it becomes a binary choice for many gay teens - you can be who you are, true to yourself as a gay person - or you can be a Christian and live a lie (or be single) for the rest of your life. Not surprisingly, when faced with this choice, the vast majority eventually opt for the former - at great (and unnecessary) spiritual cost to themselves and the body of Christ.
